The Seljuk ruler, Alaeddin Keykubat, who received this news, gave Karacadağ near Ankara as a homeland to Ertuğrul Bey as a reward. Ertuğrul Bey, who settled in the region, saw that these lands were infertile after a while and asked permission from Alaeddin Keykubat to go further west. Their new dormitory was around Söğüt. Thus, these lands close to Byzantium would be under the control of Alaeddin Keykubat. However, the Anatolian Seljuk state collapsed soon after. At that very time, in those fertile lands around Söğüt, Ertuğrul Gazi had a baby. No one could have predicted that this baby would later establish an empire that would rule Asia and Europe for 600 years.
