Psychological Thriller - Samir Hamzaoğulları

5 movie suggestions with mystery and thriller flavors
While I was at university, I came home from Christopher Nolan 's movie " Prestige ", daydreaming " I want to write something like that too ", under the influence of the twist at the end, and then I returned home, soaked in the rain, with a 'script' idea in my mind.
That night, after researching like crazy about script writing, I managed to write a few pages, and I couldn't sleep until the morning because I was thinking about developing the idea. My first script attempt was called " 93 ". This was actually the name of the public bus, which was the only means of transportation for a university campus far from the city, and the main axis of the story took place in this bus. I received very interesting reactions from my relatives to whom I had my script read. Thus, I realized that the script was a technical text written only for professionals. Since it does not have a literary writing language and fiction, it is impossible for non-filmmakers to enjoy the film by reading it. It would be fair to say that I was a little disappointed. I would understand if I found a filmmaker and had him read it; Am I on the right track or not? My luck turned out to be a strange coincidence . I managed to have a producer read my script in a very contrasting environment. After his first reaction, it became clear that I would not be able to stop writing in my future life. I finished six more film scripts in a row and had them read by the producer, who I can now call my friend. He never stopped encouraging me. Even though I was about to lose my enthusiasm when he mentioned that filming would take time and be a very expensive job , he said, "Let's turn these into books and print them, Samir, so that your works will be registered and reach a wider audience, " which caused me to enter the world of literature headlong with three books and a story.
After my first script " 93 " and my second script " NERFOSIS " were turned into a book, I also wrote my first novel called " SEED ", which I can call fantasy-thriller-science-fiction, and it took its place on the shelves of all bookstores. As if that wasn't enough, I wrote a story called " MUSİBET " for a selection of books, and when it was deemed appropriate by the publishing board, it was published in the book called " DARK ANTHOLOGY ". Thus, I managed to write three novels and one short story and appear before you.
My goal is to write a unique script like the movie " Memento ". My dream is to see what I write on the big screen. To be honest, my biggest motivation for writing books is the possibility of my books becoming movies one day.
I follow Spanish, Nordic and Far Eastern films closely. I like watching Psychological-Thriller, Mystery and Mindfuck genre movies. I also love writing in this style that I love watching.
In this column, I would like to recommend five relatively little-known films as a starting point. Maybe after watching one of these you'll say " I want to write something like that too ", who knows! Maybe if you write it, send it to me and I'll take a look. (You can use my e-mail address under my signature.)
My movie recommendations this week:
El Cuerpo
I don't know anyone who watched this Spanish mystery thriller film written and directed by Oriol Paulo and didn't like it. To briefly touch on the subject; Alex 's wife, who married an older woman for her money, dies one day and the body disappears that night. I'll stop here because whatever I say next will be a spoiler, but rest assured, you will never guess the ending.
Since I have no doubt that you will like this movie, I recommend you to watch Contratiempo , which is also a movie by Oriol Paulo in the same style.

The acting and cinematography of this 2004 Thai mystery thriller may not be appreciated, but its script is quite solid. Coming to the subject, a photographer who starts seeing ghosts in the photographs he takes realizes painfully that this is due to regret and remorse that has been going on since his high school years. I recommend you to watch this movie, which has a surprise ending and will keep you wondering until the end.
Of course, if you are talking about Far Eastern mystery and thriller movies, be sure to watch the 2003 South Korean movie " Oldboy " if you haven't watched it. I suggested Shutter because Oldboy is a much more well-known movie. But please watch the originals of both movies because they both have American adaptations.
Coherence
It is a 2013 American science-fiction film set in a single location. An ordinary dinner organization held between friends begins to become quite mysterious as the minutes pass, the reason for this is a comet that passed very close to the Earth that evening. It is a movie that will be especially loved by those who are interested in subjects such as physics, astronomy, quantum, parallel universes.
If you like this movie, you can also watch Triangle (2009) and Timecrimes (2007) in the same style.

An exquisite mystery and thriller film made in Colombia . Orchestra conductor Adrian 's girlfriend suddenly disappears. While the police are looking for the girl, Adrian finds a new girlfriend after a while and they start living together. But especially Adrian 's new girlfriend , Fabiana, begins to witness strange events at home. You should definitely watch this movie, which maintains its mystery until the end and has a surprise ending.
Maybe you have watched it because Özcan Deniz adapted this movie called " The Other Side ", and there is also an Indian version called " Murder " 3. Of course, I suggest you watch the original.
Man from Earth
Let's end with a perfect movie. Man From Earth is a science-fiction movie set in a single location. A group of scientists gather at his house to say goodbye to their friend who suddenly decided to move. While they are chatting among themselves, their friends suddenly start telling interesting things. Even though no one believes it at first, everyone starts to become convinced of what John Oldman is telling, even you!
If you like these movies, which have a special place in my heart, you will also like my books. Because why, I write about things I like to watch. Enjoy watching…
