Deformed - Reha Barış
While the understanding of reality we face shapes and standardizes us, it "deforms" the reality that our subconscious tries to remind us of.

"I have always been excited by an understanding of illustration that puts obstacles to our world of emotions and thoughts with its conditioning, liberates us by what we try to see when we look at our subconscious instead of the accepted truth, and sees pursuing the truth as the main concern. An approach that aims to gain an aesthetic dimension through the expression of our subconscious in a dream world, with the unique tension of the attitude that the conditioning and impositions of the world we live in, constitutes the driving force of my work. This anxiety I see in the surrealists has always impressed me. I too am searching for my own reality with lines and colors in a dream world. The reality that develops and is accepted outside of us has created its own invisible strings and continues to control us and set limits on our minds. Illustration for me; "The most aesthetic way to respond to the impositions of the system."
